Buckinghamshire-based Mach One Engineering has transformed its production management by implementing PSL Datatrack’s control software, replacing outdated Excel-based systems. The upgrade has enhanced traceability, scheduling, and customer service for the ISO 9001:2015-certified precision engineering firm, which serves sectors including aerospace, defense, and medical equipment.
From Disjointed Tools to Unified Workflow
Previously reliant on manual spreadsheets and a limited scheduler, Mach One struggled with inefficiencies. “PSL Datatrack integrated all departments into one system, eliminating bottlenecks,” said Production Planner Lucy Bentley. The software’s real-time tracking and certification features now ensure seamless order management across its CNC milling, turning, and anodizing divisions.
Optimizing Production with Data-Driven Insights
The software’s statistics dashboard and delivery performance reports have been game-changers, enabling monthly performance reviews with key clients. “We can now balance machine workloads and improve on-time deliveries,” Bentley added. The Component Stocks module further streamlines material management, reducing delays in works order processing.
Supporting Growth with Modular Flexibility
PSL Datatrack’s scalable, modular design allowed Mach One to phase in features tailored to its needs. Recent investments in Doosan DNM mills and Siemens-controlled CNC machines—paired with the software—have cut cycle times and expanded capabilities. The system also supports the firm’s in-house anodizing services, offering finishes from SurTec 650 to vibrant colors.
A Foundation for Future Expansion
With 15 employees handling complex, high-mix production, Mach One credits PSL Datatrack for scalable order management amid rising demand. “It’s not just solving current challenges—it’s preparing us for growth,” Bentley noted. The upgrade reinforces Mach One’s reputation for precision, traceability, and customer collaboration in competitive markets.
