Glenrothes-based Ardmel Group has completed its largest acquisition to date, purchasing engineering firm Ardmel Precision (formerly AD Precision). The deal expands Ardmel’s expertise in high-precision prototyping and large-scale production, reinforcing its position as a global supplier of automotive and apparel manufacturing machinery.
Strengthening a 50-Year Legacy
With a history spanning five decades, Ardmel Group has built a reputation for innovation, earning a Queen’s Award for Innovation for its tape sealing machines, ultrasonic bonding systems, and laser cutting equipment. The addition of Ardmel Precision—with its team of five specialist engineers—enhances the group’s ability to serve clients in over 70 countries.
A Strategic Fit for Growth
“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our mission to push technological boundaries,” said Ardmel Group Operations Director Ruwan Fernando. Ardmel Precision’s proficiency in small-batch prototyping and mass production will complement Ardmel’s existing divisions, including Keela Outdoors and Ilasco Manufacturing.
Expanding Global Reach
Ardmel Precision will operate from Ardmel’s Glenrothes headquarters, integrating its precision engineering capabilities into the group’s portfolio. The move is expected to accelerate R&D and enhance the company’s ability to deliver custom solutions for automotive and apparel clients.
Driving Innovation Forward
Fernando emphasized Ardmel Precision’s role in the group’s future: “Their commitment to quality mirrors our own, ensuring we continue to lead in advanced manufacturing technologies.” The acquisition underscores Ardmel’s strategy to diversify and scale its engineering offerings in competitive global markets.
