Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) have inaugurated their joint 20,000-square-meter headquarters in Odense, Denmark, marking a major milestone for parent company Teradyne Robotics. The facility brings together two industry leaders—cobots and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)—under one roof, fostering collaboration with partners like NVIDIA and Siemens to advance AI-driven automation.
A Hub for Next-Gen Robotics
The new headquarters is designed to accelerate development of AI-powered automation solutions, including UR’s collaborative arms and MiR’s recently launched MiR1200 Pallet Jack. “This space will fuel our mission to make automation accessible to everyone,” said UR President Kim Povlsen. MiR President Jean-Pierre Hathout added that the facility reinforces their commitment to being a “one-stop-shop for material handling.”
Industry Leaders Discuss AI’s Role in Automation
A panel featuring executives from NVIDIA, Siemens, and Teradyne Robotics explored how physical AI is transforming manufacturing and logistics. Discussions highlighted the growing demand for smart, adaptive robots that enhance productivity while working safely alongside humans.
Expanding Global Impact
With UR’s 500,000+ cobots deployed worldwide and MiR’s AMRs optimizing workflows in automotive, healthcare, and warehousing, the new HQ positions Denmark as a global epicenter for robotics innovation. The facility will also serve as a showcase for customers and partners to experience cutting-edge automation firsthand.
A New Era for Teradyne Robotics
Teradyne Robotics Group President Ujjwal Kumar called the opening “a pivotal moment” in the company’s growth. By uniting UR and MiR’s expertise, the Odense hub aims to push the boundaries of automation, from AI-enhanced cobots to autonomous logistics solutions.
