Masats has announced the upcoming launch of its innovative RE2b bus ramp, set to be presented at the UITP Summit in Hamburg, scheduled for June 16-18. The new ramp promises to enhance both safety and comfort with its increased width, addressing the growing demand for improved accessibility in public transport.
Earlier this year, Masats introduced the RD1 hybrid ramp, which combines electric and manual functionality. The motorized ramp is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle floor and can be manually operated when necessary, offering versatility for various transportation needs.
The RE2b ramp is compatible with Masats’ latest Evolution electronics, which include predictive maintenance features, and the company’s standard ECU. These advanced electronics aim to streamline operations and ensure the ramp’s reliability.
The first RE2b units are already in use in vehicles in Singapore, where Masats has a strong market presence.
An added benefit of the RE2b ramp is the optional Passenger Information System (PIS-L), integrated directly into the ramp platform. The system uses red and green color-coded lights to clearly indicate the status of both the door and the ramp, providing passengers with a more intuitive and secure experience when accessing buses.
