YIQI AMERICA INC., the U.S. subsidiary of China’s Tianjin Yiqi Intelligent Equipment, has established a new operational hub in Lansing, Michigan, to deepen ties with North America’s automotive sector. The strategic location at 120 North Washington Square positions the company closer to major automakers and suppliers in the historic automotive manufacturing region.
The expansion comes as the auto industry experiences rapid transformation, particularly in electric vehicle production. YIQI AMERICA specializes in automotive assembly and welding equipment installation, services increasingly in demand as manufacturers retool factories for EV production. The Lansing office will enhance the company’s ability to provide technical support and workforce solutions to U.S. clients.
“This move allows us to better serve our customers while tapping into Michigan’s deep automotive expertise,” said CEO Qinlong Pan. The company plans to launch local recruitment and training programs to build a skilled workforce capable of supporting advanced manufacturing projects across the region.
With over 170 employees globally, Tianjin Yiqi Intelligent Equipment brings extensive experience serving Chinese automakers to the North American market. The parent company’s capabilities span industrial engineering, smart manufacturing systems, and material handling solutions – all critical areas as the industry adopts more automated production processes.
The Lansing expansion reflects growing Chinese investment in U.S. automotive infrastructure amid the EV transition. YIQI AMERICA’s local presence could facilitate technology transfer while creating American jobs, potentially benefiting both domestic manufacturers and international suppliers navigating the industry’s electric future.
