NSK, a leading provider of linear guides, has announced the opening of its advanced cutting facility at the European Distribution Centre in Tilburg, the Netherlands. This state-of-the-art plant, representing an investment of €1.6 million, is poised to elevate service standards for customers across key European markets, including Germany, France, Italy, and beyond.
Scheduled for an inauguration ceremony on May 15, 2024, the event promises guided tours of the cutting plant, live demonstrations, and presentations underscoring NSK Europe’s unwavering dedication to innovation and quality. This milestone marks a significant step in the company’s pursuit of manufacturing excellence.
Despite already having a linear guide cutting facility in Newark, UK, the addition of the Tilburg location is set to optimize service delivery for popular products throughout mainland Europe.
Eduardo Rodriguez, Director of Seiki MU Linear Motion and Sector Director of Industrial Services at NSK Europe, emphasized the plant’s strategic importance: “With growing customer demands for expeditious delivery and response times across Europe, the Tilburg facility will enable us to supply linear guides anywhere on the continent within days.”
Situated centrally in Europe, the Tilburg site will triple NSK Europe’s existing capacity, ensuring rapid responses tailored to customer needs.
The Tilburg facility’s establishment enables NSK to offer a remarkable seven-day delivery period anywhere in Europe, effectively meeting the requirements of customers utilizing these top-tier products, particularly in manufacturing automated handling systems, packaging equipment, and industrial machines like metal shears.
At the Tilburg plant, NSK Europe’s adept production team will cater to custom requirements, offering services such as cutting linear guides to specified lengths, chamfering rails, grinding button rails, adjusting preload, assembling sliders into rails, laser marking customer references, thorough product washing, and industry-leading packaging to safeguard against transit damage. When fully operational, the ISO9001-accredited facility is expected to achieve a production output exceeding 1,000 pieces per week.
This development signifies positive news for users of NSK linear products, encompassing ball- and roller-based solutions. Notably, the NH/NS series linear ball guides, acclaimed for their 1.3 times higher dynamic load ratings and twice the life span of conventional guides, are gaining traction among manufacturers. These guides offer compatibility with various options, including lubrication units and dust-resistant seals, while ensuring rail and slide interchangeability.
Additionally, NSK’s RA series linear roller guides promise extended operating life and robust load capacity, accompanied by high dust resistance and maintenance-free operation. The optimal roller size ensures heightened stiffness and reduced vibration, further enhancing user experience.
Concurrently, NSK Europe’s existing linear guide cutting facility in Newark will continue to serve customers in the UK and Ireland, further underscoring the company’s commitment to regional accessibility and service excellence.
