Dynamic Load Monitoring Expands Operations with New Machine Shop in Collaboration with Vulcan Offshore

by Anna

Dynamic Load Monitoring (DLM), based in Southampton, has inaugurated a new machine shop in collaboration with its sister company, Vulcan Offshore Ltd. The machine shop, located at Vancouver Wharf in Southampton, comprises two adjacent units, each equipped with state-of-the-art machining and milling equipment. This development allows DLM to gain full control over its manufacturing processes, ultimately reducing lead times.

DLM, a provider of load cells, load monitoring, and cable working equipment for the lifting, rigging, wind energy, and renewables sectors, has partnered with Vulcan, specializing in fabrication, welding, and computer numerical control (CNC) machining. The new machine shop is a significant investment for DLM, enabling it to enhance efficiency and streamline the complete manufacture of its products.

The machine shop features two Doosan Puma lathes, a Haas lathe, and a Haas mill, and will be staffed by a dedicated team of five professionals. This expansion allows DLM to meet the increasing demand for its products and push forward with its growth plans. The investment not only focuses on machining load pins but also includes the production of tensile link billets and running line monitors (RLMs).
