Digital manufacturer Protolabs has introduced the rebranding of its partner network, formerly known as Hubs, to the Protolabs Network. This move enables engineers, designers, and product developers to access a diverse range of manufacturing capabilities from over 250 suppliers worldwide, all unified under a single brand. The rebranded Protolabs Network aims to provide users with competitive prices, faster lead times, and a cohesive customer experience.
The transition follows Protolabs’ acquisition of the Amsterdam-based manufacturing network three years ago, showcasing significant annual growth since the 2021 purchase. The unique business model combines Protolabs’ in-house factories with a global network of suppliers, offering customers a comprehensive resource throughout the product life cycle.
Rob Bodor, Protolabs’ President and CEO, highlighted the innovative nature of the business model, noting its unprecedented potential in the manufacturing industry. The company reported an impressive year-on-year revenue increase of nearly 87% for Protolabs Network in Q3 2023, emphasizing the success of the model and the value extracted by a savvy customer base.
Protolabs Network features over 250 carefully vetted supply partners, expanding the digital manufacturer’s capabilities and pricing options. Customers can benefit from advantages such as tighter tolerances, enhanced finishing options, and higher volumes at lower costs. The manufacturing partner network complements Protolabs’ existing low-volume, on-demand manufacturing services.
