Infinium has commenced construction on its groundbreaking Project Roadrunner eFuels production site in Pecos, Texas, positioning the facility to become the global leader in sustainable aviation fuel output upon completion. The advanced plant will annually produce 7.6 million gallons of electrofuels (eFuels), including sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) for major airline partners like American Airlines and International Airlines Group (IAG).
Revolutionary Carbon Conversion Technology
The Texas facility will implement Infinium’s proprietary process that transforms waste carbon dioxide and renewable energy into clean transportation fuels through electrochemical synthesis. By integrating purpose-built renewable power infrastructure directly into the production system, Project Roadrunner establishes a new standard for carbon-neutral fuel manufacturing that simultaneously addresses industrial emissions and clean energy storage challenges.
Strategic Partnerships with Global Airlines
Infinium has secured commitments from leading aviation industry players including American Airlines and IAG—parent company of British Airways and Aer Lingus—to purchase the facility’s eSAF output for international routes. These partnerships demonstrate the aviation sector’s growing commitment to decarbonization through alternative fuels that meet strict international fuel specifications without requiring aircraft modifications.
Economic Transformation for West Texas
Beyond its environmental benefits, Project Roadrunner promises substantial regional economic impacts through:
- Creation of hundreds of high-skilled technical jobs
- Development of new renewable energy infrastructure
- Expansion of Texas’ leadership in energy innovation
- Establishment of Pecos as a clean energy hub
“Infinium’s investment brings cutting-edge energy technology and career opportunities to our community while maintaining Texas’ position at the forefront of global energy production,” said CEO Robert Schuetzle.
Global Market Expansion for Clean Fuels
The company plans to distribute Project Roadrunner’s output across domestic and international markets, with exports helping meet growing worldwide demand for sustainable aviation solutions. This facility represents the second major U.S. eFuels project for Infinium, signaling rapid scaling of technology that could transform hard-to-decarbonize transportation sectors.
