Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) has relocated production of its T.50 supercar to its newly constructed £50 million headquarters in Highams Park, Surrey, consolidating operations previously split between two sites. The state-of-the-art 4,300 sqm Vehicle Production Centre will now handle final assembly of the remaining 100 T.50 road cars and future models like the T.33 coupe and Spider, while the vacated Dunsfold Park facility transitions to carbon-fiber monocoque prototyping for development and crash testing.
Optimized Workflow for Next-Gen Models
The move enhances manufacturing efficiency through centralized logistics and a purpose-built Vehicle Dynamics Test Road for final validation. CEO Phillip Lee emphasized the strategic value: “Highams Park reflects our commitment to ‘Driving Perfection,’ combining cutting-edge technology with an owner-centric delivery experience.” The site also houses the Gordon Murray Heritage collection, celebrating the brand’s design legacy.
T.33 Development Accelerates
With three prototype mules already undergoing testing, GMA’s focus now shifts to the 1,090 kg T.33, powered by a 617 PS Cosworth V12. The Dunsfold facility will produce 27+ prototypes for aerodynamics, crash certification, and emissions compliance ahead of the limited 100-unit coupe and Spider production runs. CEO Mofid Elkemiri noted the streamlined process “significantly shortens development timelines.”
Exclusivity Meets Engineering Precision
The T.33 continues GMA’s philosophy of lightweight, high-revving performance, with its 11,000 rpm engine and manual transmission. The Highams Park Customer Centre allows owners to personalize vehicles before delivery, reinforcing the brand’s bespoke appeal.
A Strategic Pivot for British Automotive
This consolidation underscores GMA’s ambition to rival established supercar makers. By merging R&D, production, and customer experiences under one roof, the company aims to set new benchmarks in low-volume, high-performance manufacturing.
