Whitehouse Machine Tools, based in Kenilworth, has partnered with Turkish manufacturer Tezmaksan to introduce a new range of automated storage and handling systems to the UK and Ireland. The CubeBOX robotic cells are designed for automating the loading and unloading of machine tools, including CNC lathes and machining centers.
The CubeBOX systems are compatible with a wide range of CNC machines, including those marketed by Whitehouse such as Biglia, Brother, and Spinner, as well as other types of machine tools. The robotic cells operate continuously, achieving nearly 100% overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), which is significantly higher than manual machine tending. This results in increased productivity and reduced lead times. The system’s ability to fast load and unload workpieces into multiple machines enhances production flexibility, allowing for quick adjustments to changing demands.
Investing in CubeBOX systems offers rapid amortization, as operators only need to load raw materials into the workpiece magazine and unload finished components. This frees up personnel to perform other value-added tasks on the shopfloor. RoboCAM converts 2D product drawings into robot-friendly instructions, facilitating seamless automated operations.
The CubeBOX’s flexibility also enables easy movement between different machine tools within a factory.
