Samsung Electronics has announced plans to acquire all shares of FläktGroup from investment firm Triton for €1.5bn, with an enterprise value of €1.8bn. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and other closing conditions and is expected to finalize later this year.
FläktGroup, a European leader in air technology, has significantly expanded its portfolio of HVAC products under Triton’s ownership. The company’s acquisition will help Samsung strengthen its position in the global HVAC market, offering a complete range of solutions to customers.
TM Roh, acting head of Samsung Electronics’ Device Experience Division, stated, “Through the acquisition of FläktGroup, a central HVAC specialist, Samsung Electronics is laying the groundwork to become a leader in the global HVAC business. We are committed to continuing our investment in this high-growth sector as a key future growth driver.”
Headquartered in Herne, Germany, FläktGroup has annual sales exceeding €700m and employs approximately 3,300 people across 14 production sites in 65 countries. The company was formed in 2016 following the merger of FläktWoods and DencoHappel, the latter being part of GEA’s heat exchanger business, which Triton acquired in 2014.
