Alloy Wire International (AWI), the UK’s premier manufacturer of round, flat, and profile wire, is gearing up to make a significant impact at Wire 2024 in Dusseldorf from April 15th to 19th. This comes hot on the heels of securing one of its largest export orders to date.

Recently, AWI finalized a monumental $400,000 contract with a US-based springmaker for the supply of a high-strength nickel cobalt alloy. The material, compliant with DFARS standards, is earmarked for use in an aerospace application that mandates exceptional heat and corrosion resistance. AWI’s selection for this substantial contract underscores its reputation for world-class quality and unparalleled efficiency, as the company is poised to fulfill the order within a matter of weeks.

At Wire 2024, AWI will spotlight these hallmark attributes alongside its industry-leading 400-tonne stockholding, reinforcing its commitment to excellence in international sales. Positioned at stand E26 in Hall 11, the company will be represented by a dynamic team comprising staff from the UK and agents from Germany, Italy, and the US.

Tom Mander, Managing Director of Alloy Wire International, expressed enthusiasm about the company’s participation at Wire 2024, stating, “Wire 2024 is the premier global event in our sector, and we’re thrilled to attend following the success of securing such a substantial export order. This achievement underscores how UK manufacturers can maintain competitiveness by investing in cutting-edge technology and prioritizing customer collaboration to provide top-tier technical expertise and swift access to extensive stock.”

Regarding the recent US contract, Mander highlighted AWI’s agility and responsiveness, explaining, “The US order exemplifies AWI’s core values. We received the inquiry approximately two months ago, promptly provided a quote, finalized the agreement, and expedited the processing and dispatching of the large quantity within weeks.”

Mander emphasized AWI’s dedication to showcasing its strengths on the global stage, noting, “Wire 2024 presents another opportunity to showcase our key selling points to a worldwide audience. We’ve made substantial investments in our largest stand to date and a new timeline showcasing significant milestones from our 78-year history.”

AWI manufactures round, flat, and profile wire in 60 exotic alloys, including renowned names like Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, Nimonic, and Waspaloy. Operating from its two factories in the West Midlands and Yorkshire, the company remains a critical supplier to the UK manufacturing sector while steadily expanding its export footprint, which currently constitutes nearly 55% of its £17.9 million sales.

With a client base spanning 50 countries and 15 diverse market sectors, AWI prides itself on maintaining efficient supply chains, even amidst global disruptions. Remarkably, the company boasts a swift three-week turnaround from order placement to material delivery.

Looking ahead, Mander anticipates growth across various industries, with automotive, aerospace, and oil and gas sectors witnessing notable upticks. He highlighted emerging opportunities in space, medical, and nuclear industries, as demand surges for materials delivering unparalleled performance tailored to specific applications.

Concluding on an optimistic note, Mander expressed the team’s anticipation for Wire 2024, affirming, “We eagerly anticipate connecting with colleagues, suppliers, and customers in Dusseldorf, as we champion the prowess of UK manufacturing on the global stage.”
