Standard Bots Expands Factory, Debuts AI Robot at Automate

by Anna

U.S.-based robotics firm Standard Bots has unveiled a new 16,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Glen Cove, New York, doubling the size of its previous Long Island site. The expansion coincides with the company’s launch of a next-generation robot capable of handling a 30kg payload with a 2-meter reach, designed for demanding industrial applications.

“This new facility marks a pivotal moment for Standard Bots as we scale to meet growing demand for American-made robotics,” said Evan Beard, Co-Founder and CEO of Standard Bots. “We’re thrilled to debut both our expanded factory and our latest innovations at Automate.”

AI-Powered Robots—No Coding Required

At the heart of Standard Bots’ breakthrough is its proprietary Physical AI technology, developed specifically for its robotic platforms and powered by the NVIDIA Isaac platform. This AI allows users to train robots by demonstration, eliminating the need for traditional programming.

Once a task is demonstrated, users can annotate and refine the data using NVIDIA Isaac Sim, a powerful simulation tool built on NVIDIA Omniverse. This combination enables rapid deployment of complex automation workflows that were previously too intricate or costly for standard robotics.

Industrial-Grade Robot with Collaborative Features

Alongside the AI platform, Standard Bots debuted a new robotic arm built for industrial environments such as automotive, aerospace, and logistics. Despite its heavy-duty payload and extended reach, the robot maintains collaborative-friendly attributes like a compact footprint, intuitive programming, and advanced safety features.

This balance of strength and flexibility makes it an attractive solution for industries looking to automate large, complex tasks without sacrificing safety or floor space.

Strong Financial Backing Fuels Growth

Standard Bots recently raised $63 million in Series B funding, led by General Catalyst with strategic investments from Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund and Samsung Next. The funding will accelerate product development and support the rollout of new models in the RO3 robotic arm series, aimed at bringing accessible, AI-powered automation to a broader range of industries.

Join the Industry Conversation

Standard Bots’ unveiling comes ahead of the Evertiq Expo Berlin on June 5, 2025, where leaders in electronics and automation will converge to explore industry innovations. These events offer valuable opportunities for networking and insight-sharing with key players shaping the future of technology.
