Medical device packaging specialist Shawpak has secured a 27,000 sq ft facility at Stud Brook Park’s Unit 5A, in a deal facilitated by NG Chartered Surveyors.
Established in Derby in 2013, Shawpak designs and manufactures advanced packaging solutions, including rotary thermoforming machines, rigid blister equipment, and pouch machinery. While the company supports customers across Europe and North America, it maintains its core manufacturing operations in the East Midlands.
Shawpak’s relocation from Allenton, Derby to the new Castle Donington site will accommodate around 50 employees, marking a significant step in the company’s growth strategy.
Alan Wade, Shawpak’s operations director, commented, “This move marks an exciting new chapter for Shawpak. The facility at Stud Brook provides the environment, infrastructure, and location we need to grow and innovate. We’re proud to remain in the East Midlands while upgrading our operational base.”
Charlotte Steggles, director at NG Chartered Surveyors, who completed the transaction, added, “It’s fantastic to welcome Shawpak to Stud Brook Business Park. The unit offers the high-quality specification their operations require, along with excellent connectivity—immediate access to East Midlands Airport and the M1 at Junction 24—which is a major advantage for their national and international logistics.”
James Richards, director at Clowes Developments, also welcomed Shawpak to the growing business community at Stud Brook Park. “They join a thriving hub alongside prominent names such as Starbucks, Sainsbury’s, Unilode, Argon Medical, and Bucher Municipal. Stud Brook is rapidly evolving into a dynamic centre of commercial activity, and it’s great to see more businesses choosing to call it home.”
Shawpak’s move to Stud Brook Park underscores its commitment to expanding its footprint and enhancing innovation while remaining rooted in the East Midlands.
